Privacy notice
What is stored
- Your phone number.
- The text of your messages and Ownsay's replies and cards, for 30 days.
- Which sources you have connected, and when.
- If you connect Google: a grant to your calendar, mail, Drive and contacts, held encrypted and deleted when you disconnect or delete. Ownsay reads your calendar, mail, Drive and Google Contacts. It changes only two things: it saves attachments to an Ownsay folder in your Drive, and it sends an email only when you say yes. It is used only for your own questions, recaps and the attachments and emails you ask for.
Your mobile number and text-messaging consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Ownsay never holds a password or a card. Your own record (vault) stays in your own accounts.
Google user data
If you connect Dropbox, Ownsay reads the names, details and text of files shared with you or changed each day, only to write your recap. It never changes or deletes files. Disconnect any time.
If you connect a Google account, Ownsay asks for these permissions, and uses each one only for the purpose listed:
- Gmail (read): to find and summarise the day's important email in your recap and to answer your questions about your mail.
- Gmail (send): to send an email you have approved. Nothing is sent without your explicit yes.
- Google Calendar (read): to know which meetings you had and have coming up, for your recap and morning brief.
- Google Drive (read): to find documents shared with you or changed that day, for your recap.
- Google Drive (files Ownsay creates): to save attachments and files you ask Ownsay to file.
- Google Contacts (read): to match phone numbers and email addresses to the people in your notes.
Storage. Your Google access grant is stored encrypted and is deleted when you disconnect Google or delete your account. Email, calendar and Drive content is read when a recap, brief or answer is prepared. It is not kept by Ownsay afterwards, except for what you approve into your own notes and Ownsay's replies to you, which are kept for 30 days as described above.
Sharing. Ownsay does not sell Google user data and does not use it for advertising. It is shared only with the service providers needed to provide Ownsay to you, and only for that purpose:
- Anthropic, which provides the AI model that prepares your recaps and answers;
- Fly.io, for hosting;
- GitHub, which stores your notes;
- Brevo, which delivers Ownsay's email to you;
- Twilio, which delivers text messages.
Ownsay does not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
No AI training. Google user data is never used to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine-learning models, by Ownsay or by its providers.
People. No person at Ownsay reads your Google data, except with your explicit permission for support, when needed for security, or when the law requires it.
Ownsay's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your control. Disconnect Google at any time from your Ownsay settings or at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Text DELETE to delete your account and Ownsay's copy of your data.
What is sent
Nothing is sent on your behalf without an explicit YES from you.
Stopping and deleting
Text STOP to stop messages. Verifying your number on ownsay.ai again also resumes messages, the same as texting START. Ask Ownsay to delete your account to remove your phone number, messages and cards from the relay.
